Mr and Mrs Murder
TODAY, 8.30PM, TEN

It's a pity that with Ten's audience dropping to levels rarely seen before some of its product is not being sampled, even those whose cast has considerable audience-grabbing clout.

This one is in a particularly tough timeslot, up against the tail end of My Kitchen Rules and also, tonight, The Block: All Stars finale, but it is performing bravely and winning friends for its gentle quirkiness and the sheer originality of its concept.

Shaun Micallef and Kat Stewart are crime-scene cleaners, surely among society's unsung heroes, and their experience of bad behaviour turns them into amateur sleuths.

Tonight, they're sent to a drama studio, where a cast member has met an untimely end, and they find themselves deep in a world of casting couches, leading ladies with the vapours and a director who is less interested in the murder than he is keeping his under-threat production on track.

It's fun, and doesn't take itself too seriously.
