In one of most memorable sequences of Save Your Legs! the team suffer a severe yet hilarious bout of gastro.

"I can tell you we weren't acting," one of the stars, Damon Gameau, said on a recent trip to introduce a special screening at Luna Leederville.

"Just like the real team that toured India, we all got really terrible gastro while filming in India. We were literally running from portaloos on set to do our scene and back to the portaloos. Not a good look."

Gameau says that the tour became a bonding time for the cast and crew. "We all went off for adventures when we weren't filming," says Gameau, who first grabbed attention in the series Love My Way and then the movie Balibo.

"One time, Stephen Curry came back to his trailer to discover a man inside milking a goat. So yeah, welcome to India. But everyone said it was the highlight of their career."

It's been a cricket-filled year for the 37-year-old actor, who filmed Save Your Legs! back-to- back with the TV series Howzat! Kerry Packer's War, where he played Greg Chappell.

"I've never played much cricket until last year, when I played every day for about nine months," he says. "We played on set a lot. And the real Abbotsford Anglers (the team depicted in the film) have invited me, Brendan and Stephen to play a celebrity match with them, so we're mad keen for that.
