UK artist Damien Hirst's Brit Award trophies have been delivered to ceremony bosses ahead of the glitzy show, at which Gotye is one of the nominees.

Hirst is the latest designer to put his personal stamp on the prize figurines, which will be handed over to the winners at the O2 Arena in London on Wednesday night.

Security guards accompanied the consignment when it arrived at the venue, as Hirst's golden touch has made the trophies a valuable commodity. His works can go for millions of dollars.

Emeli Sande, Rita Ora and the late Amy Winehouse lead the Brit Award nominations.

Gotye managed a nod in the international male solo category for Someone That I Used To Know.

The Australian star is up against Jack White, Michael Buble, Bruce Springsteen and Frank Ocean.

Earlier this month he won three Grammy Awards for Somebody That I Used to Know, including Record of the Year.

The Melbourne-based 32-year-old also won Grammys for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Pop Duo/Group performance.

Somebody That I Used To Know, featuring Kiwi singer Kimbra Lee Johnson, has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide, was No.1 in 18 countries and in the key US market it was the biggest selling single in 2012.

It sat on top of Billboard's Hot 100 in the US for eight straight weeks.
