After spending more than a decade as a talk-show doyenne, *Kerri-Anne Kennerley *is happy to be taking a break from the hectic world of daytime television hosting.
Rather, the 59-year-old, left, has enjoyed getting back to her hard-nosed journalistic roots since joining Seven's Sunday Night as a roving reporter.
Clearly relishing her role on the leading current affairs program, which has proved to be stiff competition for Nine's current affairs hit 60 Minutes, Kennerley spoke of her recent trip to the US where she filmed an upcoming piece for the program.
"I've just come back from Los Angeles with another story for Sunday Night," she told _AAA _ at the David Jones fashion launch in Sydney on Wednesday night.
" I love working for the program. The way they shoot, the way they produce, the way they edit is pure quality, genuine journalism. So I'm really excited."
On whether she will be returning to her compere duties any time soon - it was rumoured last year that Seven and Kennerley were in talks about another daytime TV show - the bubbly TV personality was tight-lipped.
"Not at this stage, " she said. "To be quite frank, I haven't missed any of it because this is my fourth story with Sunday Night. My first was in Africa with the rhino poaching, then I did the brain surgery story with my brother. So it's nice to be working on this kind of stuff."
Arriving at the DJs launch in a red Alex Perry frock with jewel-encrusted sleeves, which she paired with jewel-speckled heels from Sydney label Sistar Shoes, Kennerley added: "These shoes absolutely match Alex's bling. I thought they were just too much fun not to wear."
