She may have become a household name thanks to her prolific modelling career, but *Perth *-raised beauty *Megan Gale *is determined to make her mark in the movie world - if the industry is willing to give her a go.
_AAA _caught up with the 37-year-old exotic stunner at the star-studded launch of David Jones' 2013 autumn-winter collection at the department chain's flagship Sydney store this week.
Opening up about her big-screen debut in the fourth instalment of the post-apocalyptic Mad Max franchise, which is slated for release in 2014, Gale said filming against the backdrop of a vast and isolated desert in South Africa was an experience she would never forget.
"It was not only amazing working on that film, but just being in that part of the world where I've never been before, and to get away from the rat race of Sydney and Melbourne and be somewhere isolated where you get to work with new people - it was a great experience," she said.
"It definitely reaffirmed for me that acting is something I enjoy and I love. And I'd love to continue to do more films if given the chance."
And while it presented an opportunity of a lifetime for Gale - who starred alongside two fellow models turned actresses, *Rosie Huntington Whiteley *and *Charlize Theron *- working on the *George Miller *-directed flick helped her hone in on more than just her acting abilities.
"You learn a lot about yourself when you're acting and in addition to that, I learnt some new skills," she said.
"I mean, I learnt how to handle weaponry and I learnt how to do stunt work. You just acquire new skills and improve your existing ones, so it was amazing."
With a strong contingent of WA-raised models including *Jessica Gomes *, *Rose Smith *, *Britt Nicholas *, *Caitlin Lomax *and *Courtney James *dominating the DJs catwalk this week, Gale said she couldn't help but feel proud seeing girls from her hometown hit the big time.
"Coming from Perth myself, and having to break into the larger market in the Eastern States, I know how hard it is," she said. "I struggled with it, so to see other WA girls get there and get exposure makes me feel great."
