He may have received rave reviews about his hosting gig at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Awards in Sydney, but now Hollywood heavyweight Russell Crowe is being investigated for an alleged incident with Fat Pizza star Alex Haddad at an after-party held at the Star Casino nightclub.

According to an Eastern States newspaper, the casino is reviewing CCTV footage from Wednesday night after a complaint from Haddad, who claims he was kicked out of the club after approaching Crowe for a photo.

Haddad alleges that after asking for a happy snap with Crowe, the star "rudely refused" and became abusive.

A short time later, he was approached by security staff and asked to leave.

However, when Haddad – who forked out $300 for an after-party ticket and is planning to take legal action - tried to re-enter the club later, he was told by security guards to leave, reportedly at Crowe's request.

"I wasn't fighting, and I definitely wasn't harassing Russell," Haddad said.

"Security told me Russell had asked for me to be removed."

A representative for the Les Miserables star has denied any truth to Haddad's claims.

Despite Crowe being a serial tweeter, there has been no mention of the row on his Twitter account.
