South Korean rapper Psy is putting a nutty twist on his viral sensation Gangnam Style for a new Super Bowl commercial.

The YouTube sensation has signed on as the face of Paramount Farms' Wonderful Pistachios and has donned a green suit to film a TV spot for the brand in Hollywood, where he'll show viewers a unique way to crack the nut to the tune of his popular song.

Psy, real name Park Jae-sang, will also reportedly modify the lyrics to Gangnam Style to reflect his new gig as spokesman.

"He's penetrated the cultural consciousness of the United States," marketing executive Marc Seguin told USA Today.

"We knew the Super Bowl would require something really special to stand out."

The advert will air during the American football championship on February 3.

The Super Bowl commercial line-up already includes models Bar Refaeli and Kate Upton.
