US talk show host Wendy Williams could expect her viewer figures to plummet this week after she again ripped into Grammy award winner Beyonce, this time describing her as having the intelligence of a "fifth-grader".
Last year, Williams caused a stir when she questioned the legitimacy of Beyonce's baby bump after the singer appeared in an Australian TV interview, where it looked like her belly had crinkled.
Despite claiming to be a Beyonce fan, Williams again criticised the singer, labelling her inarticulate while discussing the 31-year-old's upcoming HBO documentary on her talk show on Thursday.
"Fortunately one of the TVs in our kitchen has closed captioning so I'll be able to understand what she says," Williams said, before adding: "Beyonce can't talk, Beyonce sounds like she's got a fifth-grade education."
The comments prompted booing from the audience but Williams hit back in her own defence, insisting she's a Beyonce fan: "I just said I'm a fan but let's call a spade a spade."
It's not the first time the outspoken TV host has publicly hit out at celebrities - in June she called Jessica Biel boring.
Beyonce's self-directed documentary is due to air in the US in February and is said to offer fans a rare glimpse into her private life through concert footage and first-person footage, some of which the singer filmed herself on a laptop.
