South Korean pop sensation Psy's global hit Gangnam Style has smashed a world record to become the most popular video in YouTube history.
The singer was presented with a certificate by Guinness World Records bosses in London on Thursday for the achievement.
Since its release in July, the much-parodied online sensation has held off competition from singers Justin Bieber and Adele to receive 4,911,081 "likes" on the video-sharing website.
"I'm honoured. This is the first certificate I've ever had. I didn't get one at school," Psy said on receiving the award.
Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday said: "I think Psy looked touched to receive his certificate, he even asked if he could keep it. We're pleased to present his official certificate to such a global phenomenon.
"Gangnam Style is an infectious, joyous song that has brought a smile to the faces of a 10th of the world's population, and the result is that it's the most liked video of any kind in the history of YouTube."
