Grease stars reunite for album

Summer loving is set to become a winter romance for longtime pals and former Grease co-stars, Australian Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta who have reunited to record a Christmas album.

The pair played high school lovers Sandy Olsson and Danny Zuko in the classic 1978 musical film, and now, nearly 35 years after its release, Newton-John and Travolta have re-teamed for This Christmas.

The project will also feature guest appearances by Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, and Kenny G.

"From the moment we decided to to this, magic happened," Travolta said in a statement.

"Everyone we contacted agreed to do it. My desire was to make This Christmas an intimate album, not something too ostentatious or showy. I wanted people to be able to play it around the house or in the car during the holidays, and make us part of your celebration."

And four-time Grammy winner John adds, "We all felt a wonderful, joyful energy while recording this album. We want to make a lot of people smile."

Proceeds from the album will be donated to the breast cancer survivor's Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne and the actor's Jett Travolta Foundation, which was founded after the death of his autistic son to provide relief to children with varying disabilities.
