Legal action over Brown nightclub brawl
Legal action over Brown nightclub brawl

US basketball star Tony Parker is suing the nightclub which was the venue for a brawl between rappers Chris Brown and Drake earlier this month.

Parker is suing the New York club, called WiP, for $US20 million ($A19.96 million), saying he suffered eye injuries during the fight.

The San Antonio Spurs guard said his injury has lef him "unable to attend to his usual duties and vocation," CNN said, quoting court documents.

Parker's suit said he suffered a corneal laceration among other injuries. It accuses the club's owner of not providing sufficient security to prevent brawls between high-profile celebs from breaking out.

That fight left Brown and his model girlfriend injured. It may have started with an argument over Brown's ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Parker has a $US50 million ($A49.89 million) contract with the Spurs and is playing for the French national basketball team in the Olympics next month.

He is no stranger to celebrity himself, having formerly been married to Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria.
