The Hunger Games is ranked behind Avatar as one of the only non-sequel movies to cross the $300 million mark in the shortest length of time. The film had a budget of $78 million and is expected to earn at least $350 million. American Reunion took the lowest amount ever for an American Pie movie in its first weekend, while the re-release of Titanic in 3-D has meant the film now has total box-office takings of $1.9 billion. Avatar has box-office takings of $2.8 billion. The Hunger Games has taken $460 million.
