New Case power turns heads

Case IH's two newest high-horsepower tractors, the Steiger Rowtrac and the Magnum CVT, are now touring selected agricultural field days around Australia, making their first appearance last week at the Wimmera Field Days.

The first Steiger Rowtracs purchased by customers were delivered late last year, whilst the showing of the Magnum CVT comes ahead of the Australian arrival of the first retail unit, which is destined for Warren, NSW later this month.

Case IH's High Horsepower product manager Pete McCann said the company decided to take the two tractors, which were both launched late last year, on tour so growers had the chance to see first-hand the latest in cutting edge, high-horsepower technology.

"You can always read about new machinery and technology, but there's nothing like looking it over with your own eyes and visualising how it will work on your farm," he said.

"These two machines are like the rock stars of the high-horsepower world and the tour is a great opportunity for growers to check them out and talk through with dealers how the machines can increase productivity and make farm life easier.

"The Steiger Rowtrac is one of the highest horsepower tracked row-crop tractors on the market and will be of keen interest to row-cropping growers who want to improve efficiency.

"It puts more power to the ground, improves traction and simplifies transport, allowing users to cover more ground in less time, even when field conditions are less-than-optimum.

"Not only will growers be able to plant seed sooner, but the seed will have a better environment in which to germinate and develop strong root systems that extend down into the soil area, with better access to nutrients.

"Less in-row compaction translates to earlier emergence of crops and the opportunity for increased yields.

"For growers who have increased their need for high horsepower and are looking to upgrade their operations, the new Magnum CVT will be an ideal step up.

"It is our most powerful front wheel assist tractor yet, designed to deliver power to the ground with larger implements such as planters and tillage rigs that bring economies of scale to large operations, with outstanding fuel efficiency and low operating cost."

The two tractors were part of an impressive machinery line-up that had local dealers O'Connors judged best outdoor machinery site at the Wimmera Field Days.

Case IH will exhibit the Steiger Rowtrac and the Magnum CVT at selected field days this year.
