The golden lady of Australian banking made a flying visit to Australia's gold capital yesterday. Westpac boss Gail Kelly used a visit to Kalgoorlie-Boulder to announce the $2 million refurbishment of a local branch. Accompanied by son Sean, her visit included a flyover of the Super Pit gold mine. "I was very keen to see somewhere outback . . . I thought it would be great to see . . . mining . . . considering it is such an important industry in our economy," Mrs Kelly said.
