A marine services provider backed by the family of iron ore heiress Angela Bennett has bought a Fremantle boat lifting business from MG Kailis Group.

AMB Capital Partners-owned Blue HQ paid an undisclosed sum for Fremantle Boat Lifters, which also provides a boat stacking service at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour.

The investment arm of the Bennett family’s AMB Holdings, AMB Capital founded Blue HQ two years ago when it acquired the Fremantle Boat Park and adjoining land on Mews Road.

Blue HQ has been focused on acquiring, developing and managing prime water front locations to provide storage and marine services.

MG Kailis operates the seafood, marine and jewellery empire of the Kailis family.

The boat lifting business has been in operation since 1982. It will be rebranded as Blue HQ Fremantle - Boat Lifters.

“TheBoat Lifters location is second-to-none and is a perfect complement to our upgradedBoat Park facility - the former Fremantle Boat Park,” Blue HQ Marinas director Richard Williams said.

“The combination of the two sites gives Blue HQ the ability to offer efficient indoor and outdoor boat stacking, expanded marine maintenance and hard-stand services with a vast and unrivalled waterfront access,” Mr Williams said.

“We are seeing an increasing demand for these types of services, and we plan to continue to enhance our Fremantle service offering to ensure our customers enjoy the best possible facilities and boating experience.”
