UPDATE 3.05pm: Gold Road has appointed GR Engineering and AMC Consultants to help it with a pre-feasibility study on the Gruyere gold project in Central WA.

GR has been appointed as the process engineers to undertake the process plant and infrastructure design and cost estimation.

AMC Consultants has been appointed as the mining consultants to carry out open pit mine optimisation, design, planning and scheduling, and ore reserve declaration.

Gold Road said it had also appointed a principal metallurgist and an approvals manager.

Chairman Ian Murray said the sophisticated technical and statutory work underway and planned for the Gruyere project called for a sensible balance of in-house and external capabilities.

“GR and AMC are both well known in the mining industry as leaders in their specialities and the two owner’s team appointments have significant experience in their respective fields,” he said.

“Our aim is to move the studies along quickly and thoroughly, while building up our internal capacity to ensure that we are ready for our next phase of development.”

Gold Road also hosted a ceremony at Parliament House this morning to formally recognise Sumitomo Metal Mining Oceania acquiring a 30 per cent interest in the company’s South Yamarna Joint Venture, which covers 2900sqkm of tenements.

Gold Road shares were up one cent, or 2.27 per cent, to 45 cents at the close.
