SAFE campaign tugs on heartstrings

Attention Internet — we have a new source of cute cats and huggable puppies.

SAFE (Save Animals from Euthanasia) has launched a new digital advertising campaign designed help find homes for animals in need of loving owners.

It’s as adorable as it is shareable.

There are seven versions of the ad, created by Perth-based advertising agency SHEDcsc, each featuring a heart-melting gorgeous picture of a homeless cat or dog and a clever caption that plays on the idea of “clicktivism”.

“I don’t need 10k likes, I just need someone to love me,” says the caption on a photo of “Jessie”, an eight-month old puppy.

“Sharing me with your friends is nice, but sharing your life with me would mean everything,” says another, alongside a photo of a three-year-old blue heeler.

SHEDcsc creative director Andrew Tinning said all the animals featured in the campaign were from SAFE's Karratha Foster Care Program and were homeless when they were photographed.

The work is part of SHEDcsc’s Sharing Shed community program, which also produced the Coward’s Punch campaign for Danny Green.
