SCEE's Sino Iron work reaches $80m

Southern Cross Electrical Engineering has won another $70 million work at Citic Pacific's Sino Iron project in the Pilbara.

The electrical and instrumentation works come on top of a $10 million contract won earlier this month at the Cape Preston magnetite project.

The $70 million contract covers the installation and commissioning of E&I works across the project's third to sixth process lines. The job begins next month.

SCEE managing director Simon High said Sino Iron had been identified as a core project for his company over the next two years.

"The addition of approximately $80 million of new work provides a timely boost to our already strong order book as we move into financial year 2015," Mr High said.

SCEE's shares were down 0.5 cents to 63.5 cents at 12.38pm.
