Rhonda passes on the baton
As one of Perth's most prominent businesswomen, Rhonda Wyllie is a renowned philanthropist and charity patron and it seems she is now keen to spread the giving gene on to the next generation.
Having been involved with prestigious annual event Artitude since its inception 15 years ago, the property developer was unable to attend this year's exhibition but was quick to pass on the torch to her son Luke Wyllie, who will step up and represent the Rhonda Wyllie Foundation in her stead.
Mrs Wyllie said she was proud to see Luke continue the family tradition by agreeing to open the showcase, which will be held in Crown Perth's grand ballroom next month and has to date raised more than $2.4 million for Telethon Speech and Hearing.
Luke agreed that becoming a first-time father to daughter Skyla with his wife Samantha in 2012 had only made him more eager to help local children in need.
"I think for anyone that has a new bub, it makes you think about things a bit more from that day on," he said. "I am fully supportive of what mum does with the Wyllie Group and I am honoured to be asked to speak on their behalf."
