Perseus maintains production guidance

UPDATE 1.35pm: Perseus Mining has maintained its half and full-year production guidance despite lifting gold production by 6 per cent in the December quarter.

The company, which operates the Edikan gold mine in Ghana, said gold production of 48,360 ounces in the December quarter was up 6 per cent on the previous quarter with total all-in site unit costs down 8.5 per cent to $US1228 an ounce.

First half gold production totalled 94,190 ounces, in line with the company's guidance range of 91,000-101,000 ounces for the period.

Gold production guidance for the six months ending June 30 remained unchanged in a range of 99,000-109,000 ounces with all-in site costs in the range of $US1050-$US1250 an ounce.

Full year production guidance was also unchanged at 190,000-210,000 ounces at an all-in site costs in a range of $US1050-$US1250 an ounce.

Perseus said it sold 44,617 ounces of gold during the quarter at an average sales price of $US1318 an ounce.

Perseus shares closed down three cents, or 7.23 per cent, at 38.5 cents.
