Airport name gets Margaret River nod

Shire councillors have unanimously backed inclusion of the Margaret River name in a proposal to rebadge the expanded Busselton Airport.

Cr Mike Smart said in time he thought the Busselton moniker would “drop off” the Busselton (Margaret River) Regional Airport in the same way Augusta had fallen from the Augusta-Margaret River Tourism Association’s use of as a brand.

The move would be advertised for comment, though City of Busselton councillors would have a difficult job selling the name north of the border, members noted.
