Hundreds line street for new Apple store
An Apple fan queues for opening the Perth's new store.

Hundreds of Apple enthusiasts lined up at Garden City this morning for the opening of a new Apple Store.

Employees at the store chanted ‘Apple, Apple, Apple, Oi, Oi, Oi’ from the moment the doors opened at 10am and t-shirts in Apple boxes were handed out as customers entered the store one-by-one after the long wait.

The Garden City store is the 17th Apple shop to open up in Australia and the second in Perth, since the first opened on Hay Street in Perth’s CBD on June 26 2010.

Apple fans Miriana, 21, and Katelin, 20, said that they were excited about the city's second store.

“I love Apple, I’ve had seven iPhones over the past two years and I can’t go 10 minutes without checking my phone,” Miriana said.

“It does all the thinking for you and it’s cool and handy.”

Katelin said that she would be returning to the store with her wages to buy new electronics.

The store will be stocking all of the Apple products including iPods, iPads and Macbooks, and could also stock the latest iPhone 5, which is set to be launched on Wednesday in the US.
