Shares in Quickflix were firmer after company unveiled strong subscriber growth for its online movie rental service and encouraging takeup for its new internet movie streaming service.
The company said total subscribers (including trialists) had grown 24 per cent to 110,697 in the second quarter to the end of December.
Paying subscribers had increased 17 per cent to 94,097, representing an 81 per cent growth for the calendar year.
"Initial take up of Quickflix's new movie streaming service, which launched in November, has resulted in (more than) 10 per cent of subscribers already choosing streaming as part of their package," the company said.
Quickflix shares were up 0.2 cents, or 2.86 per cent, to 7.2 cents at 10.35am.
