FED:Rip Curl investigates potential investors Rip Curl SYDNEY, Sept 17 AAP - Surfwear brand Rip Curl is investigating approaches to invest in the company from several international organisations.
The company said it had identified a number of global opportunities that could complement its growth and had received unsolicited approaches from international organisations indicating their interest in investing in Rip Curl.
"In order to assess these opportunities, the board has appointed Merrill Lynch to assist Rip Curl in exploring the opportunities available as well as assessing the merits of introducing a third-party investor to the group," the statement said.
The Australian company said in a statement that its pro-forma revenue and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation had increased in 2011/2012 compared to the previous financial year, in contrast to the general surfwear industry.
Rip Curl said that for any investment to occur, it would need to be consistent with the brand's values.
