UPDATE 2.45pm: OTOC says it has won a $3 million contract on the Roy Hill iron ore project in the Pilbara.

The contract is for in-ground services for the mine process plant (civil works) for NRW Holdings, which is sub-contracting to lead contractor Samsung C&T.

OTOC chief executive Simon Thomas said the contract provided the company with exposure to the development of a large-scale and globally-significant iron ore project.

"We believe the quality of our work and on-the-ground presence at Roy Hill will result in significant opportunities to increase our services to NRW and expand the range of services we can deliver to assist in the development of Roy Hill," he said.

OTOC shares were off half a cent, or 4.55 per cent, to 10.5 cents at the close.
