SCEE wins Rio work worth $40m

UPDATE 1.35pm: Southern Cross Electrical Engineering says it has won a $40 million contract with Rio Tinto for further electrical and instrumentation works at the Cape Lambert port B project.

The award, which takes the form of variations to the previously awarded phase 1 package for the car dumpers and screenhouse, covers the balance of works and brings the total value of Southern Cross' awarded work on the project to about $80 million.

Southern Cross shares closed down two cents, or 2.22 per cent, at 88 cents.
