Clough BAM wins FMG contract

BAM Clough joint venture has won a Fortescue Metals Group contract to design and build a fifth iron ore loading berth at the iron ore miner's Anderson Point Facility at Port Hedland.

The works include the design and construction of a 306-metre wharf extension, seven berthing dolphins and the supply and installation of wharf conveyor modules.

Project engineering has begun with procurement and planning work scheduled to start this month.

Construction activities are scheduled to begin in May with project completion anticipated in early 2015.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.

BAM Clough is a 50/50 joint venture between BAM International and Clough which was established in 1964.
