Airline bans and heavy bills await Jetstar party boys for mid-air antics
Six Australians whose drunken antics forced an international flight to be diverted have been officially banned from all Qantas and Jetstar flights.
The ban comes on top of the compensation bill, which the men have been warned will be substantial.
Some of the shamed passengers returned to Sydney on Saturday, although jetlag and hangovers were far from their biggest concerns.
They chose not to speak to the waiting media about their mile-high antics.
"I looks bad and so on," passenger Bradley Beecham told reporters. "But there's more to the story before the media should be going and saying what they've said."
The culprits were more open on Wednesday while filming themselves with drinks before they left for a boys' holiday in Thailand.
Within hours, two of them were involved in a drunken mid-air brawl, forcing the crew to divert the flight to Bali.
The men were all marched off the plane by Indonesian police.
The six spent a sorry two days in an Immigration holding room at the airport. They never made it to Phuket.
"Yeah, I'm sorry for what happened with the passengers and Jetstar 100 per cent," one of the sorry party boys said.
Some of the party returned to Melbourne overnight, but all have been handed lengthy bans by Qantas and Jetstar.
They have also been told to expect the bill for their trouble, which will add thousands to the holiday they never enjoyed.
