Russian kickboxers start fight, lose, then attack paramedics called to help them

A Russian kickboxing coach and his student are facing jail time after they started and lost a fight in a store then jumped paramedics who came to tend to their injuries.

Shocking footage shows how the pair set on unprovoked shoppers at a store in Moscow. But the fight did not go the way the instigators expected.

The CCTV video shows a 22-year-old man and his 35-year-old coach shoving bystanders, only to have the men fight back and beat up the pair.

A shop assistant told the UK Mirror the men were allegedly drunk at the time they entered the store to buy more alcohol.

The kickboxers could barely stand up and set upon a group of customers already in the store, according to witnesses.

It seems the pair picked on the wrong opponents who were reportedly "far from timid".

After the two men lost the fight, store workers called an ambulance to tend to their injuries.

But when paramedics arrived, the battered men tried to start a fight with them, too.

"I got kicked in my face and my head a few times,” one paramedic told the Mirror.

“Doctors had to put stitches in my nose, and I also suffered concussion. My general condition is not great."

The coach allegedly told police: "Even if I did something, I don't remember it. It must have been an accident."

The two fighters were charged and face up to two years in jail for assault and hooliganism if they are convicted.
