'Awkward moment' BBC presenter appears beside doppelganger mugshot

A hard-hitting BBC show, Crimewatch, took a very awkward turn when the presenter’s mugshot appeared to flash up on the screen.

The picture appeared as the presenters ran through updates on previous criminal cases.

The man in the picture was not, in fact, presenter Jason Mohammad, but his doppelganger, Victor Lakatos, who had already been caught and imprisoned for eighteen years.

It was perhaps the serious nature of the case involved that enabled the presenter to keep his composure - but that did not stop the obvious resemblance getting social media users excited.

Another user, @Duncanreddevil, tweeted: "Have you seen this man? Yeah, he's stood next to you luv!! #crimewatch."

But the most common response was: "That awkward moment when...," which was even tweeted by a police officer in Cornwall, PC Alice Nicholas.

Mr Mohammad also acknowledged the situation on his own Twitter page, writing: “Thanks for the tweets. And yes, I’ve seen the picture #Crimewatch”.
