Ship's crew faces 30m waves during Storm Gertrude, in the British North Sea
Thirty-metre waves crashed down on a ship stranded in Britain’s North Sea, as Storm Gertrude brutally rocked the vessel from side to side.
The intense moment was filmed by a man standing on the bridge, around 100 Nautical Miles North east of Shetland on January 29, as extreme weather battered the British Isles.
Huge waves throw the large vessel around, creating sea-sickening viewing as the boat rocks with the intense North Sea motion.
Powerful waves crash against the ship, estimated to be 30 metres high, brutally rocking it and soaking the deck. The vessel creaks under its own weight as thrashes in the sea.
The footage was captured on an Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel, with those on-board tasked to look after the oil platforms and the people who work on them.
