Mum-to-be proves love can be found when you least expect it

A mum-to-be has showed love can be found when you least expect it.

While eight months pregnant Sarah Connors decided to take the plunge and go on a first date.

The hairdressing student from Bristol faced the prospect of motherhood along after she broke up with her ex-partner before they learnt she was expecting.

Two months before she was due, the 28-year-old filled out an Oasis Dating profile where she was upfront about being ‘heavily pregnant’.

Weeks later she agreed to meet Lance for a date after they learnt they lived close to each other.

The pair met at a local pub for a meal and had instant chemistry.

Within five months of dating the pair were engaged, earlier this year they got married.

Sarah’s daughter Elodie who is now two knows Lance as ‘daddy’.

“I assumed that no one would want to date me while I was pregnant, but I felt lonely seeing other couples with babies, so I joined the app to keep myself entertained more than anything else,” Sarah told the Daily Mail.

“I know there's a taboo around dating during pregnancy but my family and friends were very supportive. If I hadn't done it, I would never have met Lance”.

She encouraged other pregnant women to go on dates if that’s what they wanted.

“You might not find the man of your dreams, but if you're unhappy alone it's better to be having fun,” she said.

“I knew some people wouldn't want anything to do with me, but I hoped others would be open-minded”.

Sarah and Lance had a vintage-themed wedding in February with Elodie as their flower girl.

Despite the couple’s happy ending, Sarah acknowledged the stigma around dating while pregnant and hoped other mums would find the courage that she did to try and find love.
