Fatal stabbing at caravan park caught on camera

A Perth court has released confronting vision of the moment a man was stabbed to death in a caravan park brawl.

Ryan Christopher Hawke, 34, was yesterday found guilty of murdering Mark Koller, 50, during an argument at the Crystal Brook Caravan Park in Orange Grove in April 2014.

The fly-in, fly-out worker stabbed Mr Koller six times in the chest and back after the two men began fighting over an alleged threesome involving Mr Koller and Hawke’s girlfriend.

Amateur vision, which captured the stabbing outside a caravan, was played to the jury during the Supreme Court trial.

“Oh my god…someone’s been stabbed,” a woman can be heard saying in the video.

“Oh my god he's on the floor… he’s not moving.”

The video then shows Mr Hawke leaving the victim on the floor, getting into his car and driving away.

After he leaves, other caravan park residents run to help Mr Koller, but it is too late to save him.

While Hawke admitted to stabbing Mr Koller, he claimed he expected the confrontation would only be a fist fight and said he only brought a knife with him to defend himself.

He told the court that he took out the knife hidden in his sock after Mr Koller attacked him with a screwdriver and gas bottle.

"It was me or him that day. There was nothing else to it," Hawke previously told the courtroom.

The jury spent a day deliberating, before delivering the guilty verdict. Hawke will be sentenced on September 30.
