'Chubby bandit' robbery arrest

Police have charged a man dubbed Perth’s chubby-face bandit with a string of armed robberies.

Detectives from the Regional Investigations Unit arrested the 23-year-old during a Nollamara house this afternoon.

They allegedly found a knife and seized items of clothing during a search of the man's car.

The man is accused of twice holding up a service stations in Redcliffe and Pearsall.

He allegedly held up the BP service station at Redcliffe twice in five days.

Police have been working around the clock to hunt bandits responsible for a spate of armed robberies in the past month.

Detectives have charged 17 people with more than 30 armed robbery offences in the past 28 days.
