A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a person found in a South Perth apartment yesterday.

Noor Mohammad Siddique, 28, appeared briefly in Perth Magistrate's Court this morning.

The charge was read to him but he was not required to enter a plea.

Mr Siddique was remanded in custody and will appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrate's Court on June 3 by videolink from prison.

Police were called to the Windsor Towers apartment complex on Parker Street about 12.30pm yesterday after reports of a death.

Forensic officers returned to the complex this morning to continue their investigation.

Several residents in the western tower of the apartment block said they heard loud banging and screams over the past few days and had called police about the disturbances.

Police cordoned off the complex for several hours, preventing any residents of the 80 apartments entering or leaving their homes until about 5pm when they were granted access.
