Drug, weapon charges after traffic stop

An 18-year-old Rivervale man has been charged with drugs, weapon and driving charges after his Corolla was stopped in the city last night.

Just hours before the city was awash with fun runners for the HBF Run for a Reason, police stopped a a Toyota Corolla on Adelaide Terrace near Riverside Drive, Perth around 10.40pm.

It is alleged a search of the vehicle located approximately 100 ecstasy tablets, a sum of cash and a butterfly knife.

An 18-year-old Rivervale man has been charged with Possess Prohibited Drug with Intent to Sell/Supply (MDMA); Possess Prohibited Weapon; Possess Stolen or Unlawfully obtained Property and No Authority to Drive.

He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
