Leg amputated after home invasion

Six men are wanted for questioning over a violent home invasion in Cooloongup last month which forced a father-of-three to have his leg amputated.

The group of six men broke into the Lynda Crescent home about 1.55am on Wednesday, April 8.

The 31-year-old victim, his partner and his three children, aged between six and 10, were asleep at the time.

Once inside the house, one of the attackers discharged a gun close to the children.

The group then confronted the father and demanded he hand over property before one of them shot him in the lower left leg.

They fled the scene empty-handed in a white four-wheel drive which was reported stolen in Esperance on Wednesday, April 1.

Police found the vehicle abandoned on Mornington Boulevard in Waikiki later that morning.

The victim was rushed to hospital after the shooting and has since had his lower left leg amputated.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
