Anthony Mundine's fight with Austin Trout in Texas this weekend has been postponed because the Australian boxer is suffering from an ear infection.

Mundine was scheduled to defend his WBC light-middleweight Silver title against the former world champion in San Antonio on Saturday night (Sunday morning WA time) but the fight must now be rescheduled for a later date.

A statement from Mundine's Boxa management said Mundine was "suffering from a severe ear condition which doctors say will cause him serious and potentially permanent damage if he continues with the bout".

"The ear condition was first noticed after sparring and got progressively worse the next day during his flight to the USA.

"Anthony Mundine is not allowed to be airborne for the next two weeks and will remain in Texas and then resume his training program for the rescheduled event."
