Two tourists die in Exmouth rollover

Two tourists were killed after they were thrown from a ute in a rollover in Exmouth yesterday.

Police say the man and a woman were not wearing seatbelts when the Holden Rodeo utility they were passengers in veered on to the gravel shoulder of Burkett Road, 36km from Minilya Exmouth Road before rolling several times about 3pm.

The 18-year-old woman died at the scene and the 19-year-old man died en-route to hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries.

The driver and a 24-year-old man, who are also believed to be tourists, received minor in the crash and were taken to Exmouth Hospital.

The police Major Crash unit is investigating and has urged anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicle before the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
