Dead cyclist still unidentified

Police are still trying to identify the cyclist killed in a car crash in Willetton this morning.

The cyclist was found unconscious on a Willetton street around 6am.

He was rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital but died later this morning.

The cyclist appears to be of Asian descent, aged in his 50s, and was wearing a khaki camouflage vest over a green t-shirt with board shorts and black leather dress shoes with white paint on them.

He was was riding a dark blue mountain bike.

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene of the crash at the intersection of High Road and Willeri Drive.

Police said it appeared the cyclist was not wearing a helmet.

Major Crash Sgt Dave Magorian said the early morning crash came after a weekend of horror on WA roads.

High Road westbound wasclosed from Willeri Drive/Riley Road to Granville Way.

Anyone with information as to the cyclist's identification is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
