West Coast Fever remain unbeaten in the ANZ Championship this season after beating the Adelaide Thunderbirds 55-50 at HBF Stadium today.

The result brings their 2015 record to four wins and one draw and means they will hold top spot on the Australian conference after five rounds.

It was an extremely tight contest for the first three quarters until the Fever showed their grit to blow Adelaide away in the last quarter.

The home side were up by as many as nine goals in the deciding term as they won more and more intercepts against the visitors but Thunderbirds managed some late goals to bring the margin back to five at the final whistle.

Caitlin Bassett (40 from 44) had an enthralling battle with former teammate Eboni Beckford-Chambers, to be kept to her lowest total of the year, while Nat Medhurst was brilliant with 15 goals from 18.

Carla Borrego shot 35 from 45, while Thunderbirds goal attack Erin Bell struggled against the defensive efforts of April Letton and Erena Mikaere , shooting 15 from 23 at just 65 per cent.

Khao Watts had a great game in wing attack up against Diamonds wing defence and Adelaide captain Renae Hallinan.

Fever captain Ashleigh Brazill won plenty of intercepts for her team, while Shae Brown continued her strong season.
