Couple fall from motorbike

A woman fell from the back of a motorcycle last night and her husband riding the bike was hit by a car in Craigie last night.

The couple are in Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries after the crash around 9.15pm.

A police spokeswoman said the 50-year-old Mindarie man and his 53-year-old wife were riding a Moto Guzzi motorcycle north along the Mitchell Freeway when near Ocean Reef Road the driver lost control of the motorcycle.

The woman fell from the bike and received serious injuries.

A short distance later the man fell from the motorcycle and was struck by a Mitsubishi sedan which could not avoid him.

Police say the couple's injuries are serious but not life threatening.
