Drug and weapons charges in Middle Swan

Two men have been charged with drug and weapons offences after police stopped the pair in Middle Swan last night.

Midland Local Policing Team officers stopped two men who were acting suspiciously on Bishop Road in Middle Swan around 11.15pm.

A police spokeswoman said police searched both men and their bags and it is alleged a search of one man located approximately six grams of Methylamphetamine, 39 grams of Cannabis bud, over $1000 in cash, a hunting knife, a tomahawk and a power drill.

A 27-year-old Midland man has been charged with two counts of Possession of Stolen or Unlawfully Obtained Property and one count each of Possess Prohibited Drug with Intent to Sell/Supply (Methylamphetamine), Possess Prohibited Drug (Cannabis) and Having Ready Access to both Weapons and Illegal Drugs.

He is due to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court on 14 April 2015.
