Maylea Tinecheff, the former partner of Ben Cousins and the mother of his two children, has been fined $300 after police found her with a used syringe and remnants of drugs in her handbag.

Ms Tinecheff was discovered with the two clipseal bags by police when she entered a room at the Great Eastern Motor Lodge at around 1am on February 6 this year.

Perth Magistrate's Court was told Ms Tinecheff admitted to police she had been using drugs, but declined to give any other explanation.

After being convicted in her absence today, magistrate Stephen Heath imposed the fine and costs of $150.80.

No mention was made in court of Cousins, who has been arrested three times in the last two weeks after increasingly bizarre and disturbing behaviour.

The 36-year-old, who has battled a methamphetamine addiction, was taken to Armadale Hospital amid concerns for his mental state earlier this week, after he was spotted running away from police after they approached him outside a Sikh temple.

Cousins then had to be coaxed down from a roof, before being detained.
