  • 1. Bunbury Cup *

THE South West's biggest race day will draw thousands of people to the Bunbury Turf Club on Thursday.

The $120,000 Bunbury Cup will be run and won on racing's glamour day of fashion, fun and entertainment.

General admission tickets and various VIP marquee options are available.

Gates open at 10.30am and a full race card will take place during the day.


  • 2. Harvey Harvest Festival *

ITALIAN culture will be celebrated and showcased at the weekend's Harvey Harvest Festival.

Snell Park in Harvey will come alive on Sunday with Italian food and wine, plus markets and culture all being on display.

There will be cooking demonstrations and plenty of Harvey's famous food being showcased.

The event also includes music and entertainment from 9am until 4pm plus plenty more.


  • 3. Slammers are back *

BASKETBALL is back and the Collie Crane Hire South West Slammers get the season going in style.

The men's side will start their 2015 campaign with two home games this weekend, beginning with a clash against Geraldton Buccaneers at 7.30pm on Saturday.

While that match is a standalone for the men, the women will join them on Sunday afternoon.

Lakeside Lightning are Sunday's opponents with the women tipping off at 3pm and the men at 5pm.

All matches are at Eaton Recreation Centre.


  • 4. Ballet at the Quarry *

FOR the first time in Bunbury, West Australian Ballet presents its iconic Ballet at the Quarry season.

Headlining the program is the Australian premiere of international choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's Zip Zap Zoom, an energetic fusion of hip-hop, ballroom, cabaret and other dance forms.

Three other works will also be featured at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Friday and Saturday nights.

  • 5. Manny Lewis *

THE brainchild of Carl Barron, the latest Australian film to hit Grand Cinemas Bunbury features a successful comedian playing a successful comedian.

Manny Lewis (played by Barron) struggles as a shy and reclusive type capable of entertaining fans but not able to connect on a personal level.

Meeting Maria results in him confronting these issues and letting his guard down in a romantic and feel-good tale.

The film opens at Grand Cinemas on Thursday.


  • 6. Movie night *

ENJOY watching Australian movie Paper Planes in the Ferguson Valley on Friday night.

St Aidan Wines will host a screening of the movie with gates opening at 5.30pm.

You can order a two-person hamper from the winery for $60 and beer, wine and soft drinks will also be on sale.

Alternatively, you can bring your own hampers, low chairs or picnic rugs.

  • 7. Quiz night *

BUNBURY Powerboat Club is hosting a quiz night on Friday to raise money for the 2015 Ride to Conquer Cancer.

This event is BYO nibbles and there is a licensed bar available.

Tickets are $10 each and $100 for a table of 10.

Door prizes, games, a raffle and more will all feature on the night.

The quiz starts at 7pm at the club's Lyons Cove premises.


  • 8. Tony Hawk Night *

THE Prince of Wales Hotel will host a unique music night honouring the famous Tony Hawk Pro Skater video games series.

Six bands will take to the stage on Friday night playing songs from the soundtracks of the four Tony Hawk games alongside their own material.

Tickets to see Being Beta, Ben Elliott, Blindspot, Paper Plains, Trip Hazard and TRS perform are available from the venue.


  • 9. Dalyellup markets *

DALYELLUP will host its monthly markets on Sunday.

The markets are located opposite Dalyellup's lake on the corner of Norton Promenade and Maidment Parade.

Entry is free for buyers and plants, tools, craft items, clothing, free-range eggs, cakes, vegetables and hot food will be among the items available.

The markets will run from 7.30am until 12.30pm.


  • 10. Eaton markets *

MARKETS will also take place at Eaton Recreation Centre on Sunday.

These undercover markets will run from 9am until 1pm and include a wide variety of stalls.

Clothing, toys, jewellery and plenty of handmade products will be on sale.

Entry is by a gold coin donation and the day will also include a sausage sizzle, face painting and a bouncy castle.
