Footy burger prices out of bounds

WA footy fans will not enjoy a big fall in game-day food prices like those announced by the MCG in Melbourne this week.

The Victorian venue announced cuts to food prices of up to 40 per cent to make a day at the footy more family-friendly.

Domain Stadium general manager Gavin Taylor said next week's release of menus and food offerings would usher in a new era for footy food - but no reduction in prices.

"We're driving a new food experience at Domain with updated, more exciting food and we are committed to maintaining our 'value range' of food at 2014 season levels," he said.

Domain caterers Delaware North announced yesterday the creation of two new burgers aimed at Eagles and Dockers supporters.

Eagles supporters can chow down on a "Shredded Prey" chicken burger with chipotle mayo and slaw, while Fremantle fans can support their team with a "Smoke 'n' Anchor" burger with slow-cooked brisket tossed in a barbecue sauce.

The team burgers will be available at the clubs' home games.

The burgers will also be available when there is a western derby - no matter whose home game it is.

"These burgers are the equivalent quality and value to gourmet burger restaurants around town," Mr Taylor said.

Eagles forward-ruckman Fraser McInnes gave the Shredded Prey burger the thumbs up.

"Very tasty," he said.

"It's as good as gourmet burgers you'd find outside a footy stadium."
