A teenage pornography addict who sexually assaulted a woman after she left a train station in daylight last year has avoided jail.

The boy, who can not be named for legal reasons, committed the sex attack on his 15th birthday while he was in school uniform.

He pleaded guilty to sexual penetration without consent and indecent assault and was handed a 10 month conditional release order in Perth Children's Court this morning.

The boy was also ordered to do 80 hours of community work.

The 22-year-old victim was accosted on a cycle path near Methuen Way in Duncraig after leaving Warwick train station in October.

The boy grabbed her from behind when she reached a secluded section of the path and put one hand up her blouse and the other up her skirt.

The teen fled after the woman broke free and yelled at him.

The court was told the boy came from a close Christian family and had developed an addiction to pornography.

His lawyer said the boy watched adult pornography on his iPod on a nightly basis before the attack and did not know how to manage his sexual urges.

Magistrate Andrée Horrigan described the assault as intrusive, degrading and invasive.

"I could not imagine a more serious set of circumstances," she said.

"This sort of conduct, it's just disgusting.

"This is going to have a lasting impact on her (the victim)."

Ms Horrigan told the boy he would end up back in court if he didn't "get off the porn".

The teen held his parents' hands as he left the court.

After the attack, the woman who was assaulted said she had been shaken by the boy's youth and aggression.

“I don’t want this to happen to someone else down the track, ” she said.
