Hammerhead shark pays a surprise visit

Broome real estate agent and amateur fisherman Tony Hutchinson couldn’t believe his eyes when a giant hammerhead slowly swam around his seven metre vessel Inheritance at Black Ledge, about 5km east of Broome on Monday.

“It was bigger than some of the dinghies fishing around us,” Mr Hutchinson said.

“The people on-board my boat were pretty impressed with this prehistoric looking creature.

“I certainly didn’t see any of them wanting to go for a swim after it suddenly.”
