The horrifying moment a skydiver lost consciousness during a free-fall over WA has been caught on camera.

In video posted to Youtube, the man is seen in what appears to be a normal freefall position before he suddenly spins out of control during the fall which took place over Pinjarra on November 14.

In the video, which appears to have been recorded by a GoPro-style camera, another skydiver, makes several unsuccessful attempts to grab the man and eventually takes hold of him and releases his parachute, taking him to the ground safely.

The video has already received almost a million views on Youtube where the man gives more insight into his 12,000ft dive.

“At around 9000ft I have a seizure while attempting a left hand turn. I then spend the next 30 seconds in free fall unconscious,” he wrote on Youtube.

“Thankfully my jumpmaster manages to pull my ripcord at around 4000ft. I become conscious at 3000 ft and land safely back to the ground.”

Britain’s Daily Mail reports the man was named Christopher and was understood to have taken the dive as part Accelerated Free Fall program with WA Skydiving Academy.

The academy has been contacted for comment.
