Drugs and weapons in ute: police

A Stirling .22 rifle, pepper spray, two hunting knives, cash, a glass smoking pipe and 12g of a white crystal police suspect is methylamphetamine were allegedly found in a vehicle in Perth's southern suburbs yesterday morning.

A police spokeswoman said officers found a man and a woman in an Isuzu Dmax ute on an industrial building site on McLaren Ave, Hope Valley around 9.15am.

They searched the car and allegedly found the drugs, money and weapons.

"A search warrant was executed at a home in Wellard later in the day where items were seized including approximately 15grams of Cannabis and 13 grams of white crystals," the police spokeswoman said.

A 26-year-old Wellard man has been charged with two counts of Breach of Bail and Possessed a Control Weapon, and one count each of Breach VRO; Possession of Stolen or Unlawfully Obtained Property; Possession of a Prohibited Drug with intent to Sell/Supply (Methylamphetamine); Possess Drug Paraphernalia in or which there was a Prohibited Drug or Plant; Possess a Prohibited Drug (Cannabis) and Possess Unlicensed Firearm carried with Drugs and/or Cash.

He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
